Breathtaking Rallying in the Brecon Beacons

From a Tourism Perspective
The Brecon Beacons with Mynydd Epynt on their Northern boundary are well known to those that have been taking part in Rally events over the years.
The roads of the region offer unsurpassed driving and breathtaking views (obviously YOU will not allow this to distract you!). But if you are not actually rallying yourself, then take the opportunity to explore the many charming towns and villages. Call into one of the various cosy pubs, in which you may then choose to stay the night. There are countless welcoming accommodations along your route, for you to take a long deserved rest. Your epic journey through this beautiful part of Wales, known as the Brecon Beacons is definitely both a place to stay and discover, as well as drive through. Visit the National Parks Website to find out more!

FROM A MOTORSPORTS PERSPECTIVE: Each year numerous sorties by Motor Sports Association sanctioned events, utilise the National Park and bring well earned financial aid to the region during the shoulder months. Such events as the Wales Rally GB and our own Rally Evolution deliberately use this picturesque part of stunning Wales. The reason, not just to compete through this region, but also it offers so much, with an abundance of quality accommodation, (at a rate that meets everyone’s budget) – Fantastic scenery and the locals are especially social and friendly.
The Rally Evolution visits every corner of the National Park, this year bordering on Abergavenny, Hay on Wye, Brecon, Merthyr Tudfil, Pontypool, Llandeilo, Glyn Neath and of course the Rally Head Quarters Town of Llandovery. The quaint town is also the place where one of the first independent Welsh Banks, The Black Ox, was established (later to become part of Lloyds TSB bank). The building is part of the King's Head inn which was the home of The Bank of the Black Ox and will play host as the Saturdays lunch halt on this year’s event. Across the way from the Kings Head is the Brecon Beacons National Park Information Centre. While at Llandovery in November, why not call in and find out more, for when you next visit here and the Brecon Beacons National Park!
